The #schoolholiday juggling act….
#School holidays used to be a blast (before we bought a business and had to learn how to adult real quick)… before school holidays were a blissful array of waking up late lounging in our PJs for the morning before a quick team talk on what adventure we shall go on today…and/or which super awesome colourful creative activity we were going to undertake. The kids and I LOVEEEDDDDDDD it…. We even used to take on all the extra children who’s parents had to work as we loved to make their days shine brighter too…
This #SchoolHolidays has been different lots of office visits
- 3 kids in tow,
- some Ipads (my pet hate kids and too much technology),
- some not so healthy meals (my other pet hate children not giving my children food with goodness to grow their brains and bodies) and stress stress stress.
- Have you ever tried to catch up on office work in a shared office building when you had to actually think about what you were doing with loud fighting children in the background every shhhhh for some reason escalated the noise…you quickly turn into one of those fire breathing dragons I tell you and it certainly ain’t pretty (secretly you are cringing at the thought of the next door office hearing your nagging, please please please be soundproof walls).
Sad thing is the mum guilt very quickly creeps back in… it’s the pitts mum guilt!! I’m not a fan!
As I sit here and think to myself is one week of small space bonding to try and give us a bit of freedom down the track a little going to traumatize them that bad that they wont be able to function as adults in the future…
I highly doubt it (i’ll let you know when they are adults)!! Are they upset they have had takeaways? Heck no they think it’s the bees knees, are they upset for the first time they have had a little chill time on the Ipad instead of rushing here there everywhere?? NOPE they think it’s freakin awesome…. Do they like hanging out at the office?? The first day they came id say yes the days following? Not so much but they are making it work and designing their own kid corner (books, blocks, drawing, games)
I think they will be just fine in the short term.
I certainly have a newfound appreciation for all those super duper hard working mum in dads that juggle businesses and children and make it out the other side as nice people haha…
